Our History

The story of Tabacos Carrión is an emblem of tradition and excellence in the tobacco trade. Since its founding in 1929, this family company has grown, tended and exported fine tobacco leaf from San Andrés Tuxtla, Veracruz, a region prized for a climate and volcanic soil made for cultivation. Specialising in the Negro de San Andrés and Sumatra varieties, it has supplied its tobacco to the most prestigious brands in the world.

Our Vision

The family chose to extend its legacy with a premium cigar line of its own: Carrion Cigars. Decades of growing experience meet an uncompromising commitment to craftsmanship. Every cigar is made only with 100% Mexican tobacco, with care at each step, from cultivation and fermentation to aging and rolling, so that each one carries the pride and passion of the Carrión family.

From soil to smoke

  1. Tobacco plants in the field

    Cultivation

We plant in the volcanic soil of the San Andrés valley, the same land the family has worked since 1929.

  2. Tobacco leaves in the Carrión warehouse

    Fermentation

The leaf ferments slowly until it develops the colour and aroma of San Andrés tobacco.

  3. Bales of tobacco aging in the warehouse

    Aging

In our warehouse the tobacco rests for as long as it needs to soften the leaf and round out its flavour.

  4. A roller in a guayabera and hat rolling a cigar by hand

    Rolling

Every cigar is rolled by hand and dressed with the Carrion band.

Don Enrique

A tribute to the founder of Tabacos Carrión. This torpedo is made with tobacco harvested from the first fields Don Enrique Carrión ever planted, dressed in a Bolero wrapper: a hand-joined double wrapper of Negro de San Andrés and Sumatra.

Its Negro de San Andrés Claro filler receives a special brandy preparation that lends a subtle sweetness, with notes of leather, almond, cinnamon and cedar.
